Meet Andy – the accountant who listens, explains, and keeps it kind.
I developed Balloon Accounting to support the people who see things differently, just want the numbers made simpler with no stress and those who care for others.

What I’m about
It’s not just about Tax Returns

After 35+ years in accountancy, I’ve seen the difference good support can make.
Where it all started: After a few years in banking I fell into accounting by accident, by helping my dad — I’ve always liked bringing calm to chaos so over the years, I’ve worked with all kinds of clients, but the ones I kept coming back to were the ones who care for others.
It wasn’t long before I realised that most traditional accountancy services don’t really get what it’s like to be in business and see the world differently so I set out to offer something different — something quieter, kinder, and easier to understand.
And I’m also here for the people who often put others first — to help them feel calm, clear, and confident about their business finances.
A bit about me: I live in Poole, Dorset, with my wife Lisa and our springer spaniel Penny — she features in more client conversations than I do sometimes!
I’ve been a Foster Carer and sat as a member on a local Fostering Agency Panel. I believe in keeping things human, straightforward, and just a little bit lighter. I give to local charities like Diverse Abilities and try to make sure that every bit of my work leaves something good behind.
I’m not a loud-and-proud salesman. I’m someone you can rely on, who’ll explain things clearly and show up when I say I will.
Why I do this: I believe that people who are neurodivergent deserve better as do those that look after others. They all deserve to feel looked after too. That includes mental health professionals, educators, social workers, and people navigating business with a neurodivergent brain.
Why the name Balloon Accounting?: Because finances should lift you up, not weigh you down. Because the work you do matters. And because we all do better when things feel a little lighter.
