Financial Wellbeing Service
How are you going to get to where you want to be ?
If there is one thing that the Coronavirus crisis has taught us it’s how important family is.
It comes above all other things such as money in the bank, our car, our business. And if family is the most important then we really need to make sure we plan a healthy future for ourselves and our loved ones.
Everyone, whether in business or not should plan ahead. But how do you know if you’re on track to meet your financial goals if you do not know your present situation?
So, now more than ever, we need to start thinking about how we can provide for our family into the future. We all have hopes and aspirations such as short term plans like holidays, changing the car right through to paying for the kids to go through university or retiring when we are health enough to enjoy it.
I’m sure you’re familiar with the phrase “going from point A to point B”, but most of us will need to pack our bags before we map our course so that we are prepared for the trip and are ready when we arrive.
The place to start is with a Personal Balance Sheet.
Every year, business owners record their assets and liabilities on a business balance sheet to track the health of the business and see how it has grown over the years.
Individuals and families should be doing the same thing.
Let me explain how….
Financial Wellbeing Service
This is where my Financial Wellbeing Service comes in. I meet with you (in person or online) and we look at building a comprehensive list of your assets and liabilities. This gives us your Net Worth and a starting point for measuring your progress. This analysis also gives you a personal cashflow and we will be able to identify where your money is being spent.
We will look at your aspirations, whether short term such as planning for the next family holiday right through to setting the ultimate goal. This may be retirement or it might be something else. After all it’s your goal.
We will set some Action Plans to help you along the way and monitor your progress as we travel along the road to your goal.
I will give you suggestions as to how you could reduce and mitigate your tax liabilities, how to improve your net monthly income, ways of building your personal net worth plus help you plan for any tax issues that might crop up further down the line such as Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax.
You can have access to your data online so you can check at anytime how you are doing, review your action plans and make sure you stay on track.
Every few months we will repeat the process of analysing your assets, liabilities, income and expenditure as this helps us assess your progress towards your goal and enables us to adjust what may or may not be working.
It will also help us to amend your plans as what we’ve all found out recently is that life isn’t a straight line from A to B, rather that many unforeseen things can get in the way.
But it’s not all about the numbers
But this isn’t all about your Financial Wellbeing as we will also look at your own Personal Wellbeing.
We will look at how you are feeling at each snapshot we take, how content you are with your working life, number of hours, holidays. What’s your stress levels like, what could we do to alleviate them ?
We will use all these to plot your progress towards a happier, more family filled time. After all, that’s what it is all about isn’t it ?
You receive a full report after every meeting packed full of easy to understand charts and graphs assessing your progress and action plans.
This is a bespoke service that very few Accountants offer.
It suits each and every one of us, not just those in business and now, more than ever, as we come out of one of the worst periods in living memory, it’s time to take stock of our financial position and take action towards a wealthier, healthier future.
