Covid-19 Help for the businesses and employees

your business, changing lives

Coronavirus Closeup

With the country in the grip of an unprecedented health danger none of us are likely to not be touched by this whether we are a small company, self employed landlord or employed.

As we know the government issued some financial measures to help business in the recent budget but with the advice of the last day or so for prolonged periods of isolation it will not go far enough so I’m sure there will be more in coming days.

I have been monitoring the advice that is available and it would be pointless in me regurgitating the excellent advice and guidance that has been issued by others so below I give links to a couple of websites where you will be able to find guidance that will hopefully suit your circumstances.

Federation of Small Business

This site has some very god advice for business.

  • Here you will find information on the following:
  • Talking to your insurer if you have trade insurance and have to close your business temporarily
  • Finance options via your bank. Bear in mind I also have access to finance facilities via Funding Finder
  • Talking to your customers about any outstanding invoices
  • If you need to speak to HMRC about time to pay for any tax liabilities. They are willing to help where Covid-19 is a contributory factor
  •  Speaking to your local authority about business rate relief
  • Speaking to your business landlord about the possibility of a rent holiday
  • Information for business and employees regarding Statutory Sick pay

Low Income Tax Reform Group (litrg)

This is another excellent site with information on a number of subjects for individuals including:

  • Statutory Sick Pay
  • Those that do not qualify for Statutory Sick Pay
  • Universal Credit

HM Government

Here is the government website with its own official advice an guidance.

Iwoca

Iwoca provide finance to small business ( I have access to them as a partner) and they have issued advice with further links to guidance so well worth taking a look.
